Reasons to Choose SUMMER CAMP at YMCA Camp Campbell Gard
YMCA Character Building Guarantee
Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Faith—five words that represent the YMCA Core Character Values. Building character is essential to the YMCA’s goal of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. We promise to teach and demonstrate these values in all of our programs. If your camper does not leave camp with a better understanding of our Core Values, we will refund their camp fee.
Caring and Responsible Staff
We recruit the best counselors from around the world on the basis of their values and proven abilities to work with children. Our programs are led by full-time, year-round professionals. All staff members complete a rigorous application process that includes reference and background checks. Our staff members also participate in extensive training to ensure that they serve as positive, responsible, and caring role models for your child.
Safe and Positive Environment
Safety is always our top priority at camp. We offer a staff to camper ratio of one to six (1:6), so you can rest assured that your child will receive the best care and attention. We are accredited by the YMCA of the USA and the Butler County Health Department, as well as the American Camp Association—meaning that we meet or exceed more than 300 standards for health, safety, and program quality.
Healthcare and Wellness
We have a registered nurse on duty at camp 24 hours each day, and all camp staff are trained in emergency procedures and certified in First Aid and CPR. Fort Hamilton Hospital is just 10 minutes away.
Comfortable Accommodations
We offer modern cabins with electricity, air-conditioning, and full indoor bathroom facilities. Campers stay in age/gender-appropriate cabins under the continuous care and supervision of qualified counselors.
Delicious and Nutritious Meals
We serve three well-balanced and delicious meals each day in our modern and clean dining hall. Our menus are approved by professional dieticians and include healthy choices and vegetarian options.
Learning and Growing
Camp provides experiences that challenge campers to learn and grow by exploring their interests and developing skills. With each success, campers gain self-respect, confidence, and independence.
Friendships and Fun
Camp offers non-competitive programs in a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where children can be themselves, play together, and make friendships, all while enjoying the experience of a lifetime!
Open and Accepting Environment
We welcome all campers regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap, or age to participate in our programs and Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition program.
Financial Assistance
We seek to provide camp experiences to all children regardless of financial situation. Our scholarships are made possible through generous donations to the Strong Kids Campaign.
