YMCA SWIM LESSONS

YMCAs have been teaching people to swim for more than a century. In YMCA aquatics programs, children learn to be safe around water and they feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with learning something new. Youth progressive swimming is the YMCA's third most widely offered program nationwide. It uses a problem-solving, guided-discovery teaching approach in a positive, caring environment. Kids can develop lifelong skills that can help them stay healthy.

Parent/Child Lessons

Take your little one and hop in the pool together for fun and enrichment! Children ages 6 months to 3 years will enjoy the many water readiness activities provided by our YMCA aquatics instructors. Together, you will learn how to feel comfortable in the water while preparing your child to learn to swim - an important skill for safety as well as for fun. Parents must be in the water with their child at all times.

Preschool Swim Lessons

There is no better place to learn to swim than at the YMCA- often referred to as "America's Favorite Swim Instructor"! Beginning swimmers start by blowing bubbles, floating, kicking, and learning basic water movements. Flotation devices help build confidence while practicing-and mastering-beginning swimming skills.

School Age Swim Lessons

Intermediate level swimmers will build upon their beginner's skills by learning more in-depth swimming strokes and movements. Additionally, intermediate program participants will begin to acquire water safety skills-essential for a lifetime of safe swimming. At this level, participants also practice exciting water-based activities they can enjoy for years to come.

Teen Swim Lessons

Teen swim lessons are ideal for those beyond the age for progressive swim classes yet too young for adult classes. Highly trained aquatics instructors work one-on-one with each participant to set personal goals and meet new challenges. This enables participants to progress at their own pace so that they can develop the skills necessary to swim safely for fun and exercise-for life.

Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lessons are for children of all ages, at any ability level. Participants get a one on one lesson with a qualified instructor. Each participant works at their own pace.
