Connection : Now, more than ever kids need time to foster their social-emotional skills and connect with other kids. We will encourage this development while building on the Y’s character values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and faith.

Learning : We will provide dedicated time each day for children to complete their virtual coursework. Please send your child with their charged device and all other supplies your child will need to complete their work each day.

Activity Zones : Think summer day camp but during the school year. When kids aren’t doing virtual coursework, YMCA staff will lead activities that will keep students physically active and having fun.  

Here at the YMCA, your child’s safety is our top priority. Wev never stopped caring for children during quarantine, during that time we cared for the children of healthcare workers and essential employees. That’s 50 days of frequent, vigilant cleaning and sanitizing efforts, keeping children safe and well cared for. We will put this essential experience into play as we re-launch our Before and After School Enrichment program with enhanced cleaning protocols and safety standards.

In order to serve Hybrid Districts, we will provide Before and/or After School care at the same location as the full day program. Parents are responsible for setting up/providing transportation to and from school.

Rates : 

• Before or After Care Only  - $20/day
• Before & After Care  -  $30/day

YMCA Members benefit from a $5/day rate reduction on Before/After Care only and is not valid on Full Days.

Will YMCA staff assist my child with their assignments?

This program is designed to provide your child the time and space to complete their virtual coursework. Our Y staff may be able to provide some guidance, but we will not be responsible for teaching lessons or monitoring individual progress. Please review all assignments and teacher communication channels with your child each day before coming.

Will we need to provide any additional supplies, tablets, etc?

Yes, please send your child with their device, fully charged, each day to complete their required assignments. If your child needs physical supplies for an assignment (construction paper, markers, etc.) please pack those required materials for your student. The Y will not provide tablets or devices for children.

Will you be able to print for my child?

Unfortunately due to the volume of children and potential volume of printed materials, we will not be able to print assignments. Please print assignments and bring them with you.

What if my child doesn’t complete their work or completes their work early?

Our Y BASE schedule will provide time for completing assignments and studying. If a student does not complete their work within the designated time, they will still participate in the other scheduled programming and will need to complete their assignments outside of Y BASE.

What will the schedule look like?

While this may change as we all adapt to virtual learning, students will have space and time to connect with their teachers, complete assignments and read. Outside of learning time, students will also participate in in active and engaging Y base activities including free play, sports, games and STEM activities.

Is lunch provided?

Yes! Nutritious meals will be provided.

If schools give the option to resume in person instruction, will you continue to offer a full day program?

When in person instruction resumes, the traditional YMCA Before & After School Enrichment program will continue and as of this time, we do not plan on continuing full day programming.

Items to bring each day :

• Tablet/Laptop, Fully Charged
• Any required material for assignments (paper, printed material, etc.)
• Swimsuit & Towel (At Branch Locations we will visit the pool)
• Waterbottle
• Tennis Shoes (no open toed shoes please)
• Optional: Book, if your child finishes assignments early
